The butted alloy frame is noticeably lighter than my old bike, making climbs feel way easier. First ride on some local single-track and the trail geometry felt perfectly balanced for getting serious. Definitely a step up in performance that justifies the price for a hardtail.

The trail geometry really shines on steep descents—feels planted and stable where my old bike got twitchy. Took it out on a rocky loop and the butted alloy frame soaked up chatter nicely, though the fork could use a touch more damping for bigger hits.
